Restorative Dentistry in North Andover, MA

At Willows Dental Group, want first and foremost to preserve and protect your smile and your oral health. That’s why we’ll always prefer an ounce of prevention to a pound of cure, as the saying goes. But when a cure is necessary, we have the restorative dentistry treatment need to repair or rebuild your smile.

Our Restorative Dental Services include:

Crown & Bridge

A crown and bridge, as the name implies, combines two oral prosthetics into one that seamlessly restores your complete smile. If you are missing a tooth, or more than one tooth consecutively, a permanent crown and bridge may be the ideal solution. With this tooth restoration, porcelain crowns are mounted on the teeth on either side of the gap in your mouth. In turn, these support the false tooth or teeth that literally bridge that gap. This prosthetic is fabricated as one piece by our skilled dental clinic. Once cemented into place, a crown and bridge is indistinguishable from your natural teeth.

Dental Implants

Another tooth replacement option is a dental implant. Unlike other prosthetic devices that only replace the crown of a missing tooth, a dental implant also replace the root. If our team determines that you are a qualified candidate for a dental implant, then he will surgically place a small titanium screw in the bone beneath the socket of your missing tooth. Gum tissue is sewn over the implant and the healing process begins. During healing, the post and surrounding bone tissue integrate to form a solid foundation for the prosthetic that your dentist will eventually attach to the base. That prosthetic can be a porcelain crown for a single tooth, a bridge for several teeth or even dentures if you’re missing all of the teeth along one of your arches.

Dentures consist of natural-looking false teeth that are set on a gum-colored base. And while these may sound like the same dentures your grandparent wore, they are far different. We create the most advanced dentures, which fit more securely and comfortably than any previously. With the aid of digital x-rays and impressions, we work in conjunction with a dental lab to make sure your dentures are fabricated to be the right size, shape and color for your unique smile.

Removable Bridges

Alternatively to a permanent crown and bridge, there are also removable bridges to replace missing teeth. A removable bridge is held in place by clips or brackets that attach to healthy teeth adjacent to a missing tooth. Like a denture, this bridge is made of a pontic, or false tooth, that is mounted on a gum-colored base. Both dentures and a removable bridge require daily oral hygiene care. Wash with a gentle cleanser and store in a glass of water overnight. Never sleep with your dentures or a removable bridge.
